Music Hack Day Boston
Since space is limited, we will review the registrations to make sure we have a good mix of people who are genuinely interested in building things at the event or able to contribute in some other way. We'll send out a confirmation email as the date approaches and will try to accommodate as many as we can. If we have any questions, we'll let you know, and if you have any, feel free to drop Jon a note at contact@jonpierce.com.
The main goal of Music Hack Day is to explore and build the next generation of music applications. It's a full weekend of hacking in which participants will conceptualize, create and present their projects. Music + software + hardware + art + the web. Anything goes as long as it's music related.
We're expecting close to 300 attendees and over 25 companies, including The Echo Nest, SoundCloud, Last.fm, The Hype Machine, Yahoo, Harmonix, Amie Street, Indaba Music, 8tracks, MusicBrainz, Boxee, Sonos, NPR and many more. See the site for the complete list.
This event will mostly be spent hacking. Talks will be limited.
The weekend will feature workshops on various APIs and platforms, panel discussions with leading industry thinkers, demos of the projects built, and a concert on Saturday night. We'll release more details soon, but we couldn't be more excited by how it's coming together. See the preliminary schedule for details.
